Contrary to popular belief, none of our glacial storage F2 blobs ever resided within Frodsham Caves. Despite the obvious savings on cooling, the caves are situated on private land without a secure perimeter, cabling infrastructure or any environmental construct. We have never operated our services from a cave. The sandstone dust and humidity would play havoc with our air filters and insurance premiums for expensive electrical racking in caves are not generally provided due to water ingress and geological stability and would compromise Health & Safety laws over lighting, ergonomics, safe exists and emergency response. Plus the large number of cows that shelter in there during the winter months would further increase health & safety, and accessibility concerns. However, we do operate an above ground 440MHA emergency Starlink high access point for emergency connections during Government or regional council announced states of emergency which we are required to test on an annual basis during periods of elevated threat status.

Frodsham Pictures

Frodsham Pictures' will be parked during 2026 - whilst we focus on other commitments. The site was moved from a webhost in Canada over to our new webhosting company  in Stockholm, Sweden. They were offering plenty of resources and utilisation for a lot less money than we could find an equivalent for in the UK. However, we did note some really good customer support companies in the UK in Leeds, Coventry and London. These were mid-sized companies and not the big boys with their year 1 prices hiding the 4 point Helvetica 2nd year price. Unfortunately, we found IT service costs were 30% higher in the UK than we found in France, Germany or Sweden, due to their lower energy costs, more competitive data centre markets and more favourable regulatory environments.
